About PolicySignal
Civic technology for gathering consensus
Our Mission
PolicySignal was built on a simple belief: communities work better when the people who make decisions can actually hear the people they represent — not as noise, but as structured, reasoned signal. We set out to close the gap between what constituents believe and what elected officials understand, by giving both sides a shared language for policy.
Why We Built This
Most tools for civic engagement treat constituents as passive respondents — they answer yes/no polls, sign petitions, or send form emails. The result is that officials end up making decisions based on whoever shouted loudest, or gamed the system best — not on what the community actually believes.
We think that when people are given the opportunity to articulate why they hold a position — not just what it is — the quality of public discourse improves. PolicySignal is designed to surface that reasoning, find common ground across coalitions, and give officials the analytical depth to act with confidence.
Our Values
- Transparency over opacity. Every position on PolicySignal is backed by explicit reasoning that anyone can read and evaluate.
- Nuance over noise. We design for depth, not volume. A single well-reasoned endorsement matters more than a hundred empty clicks.
- Inclusion by design. We build tools that work for communities of all sizes, from neighborhood councils to city-wide forums.
- Non-partisan infrastructure. PolicySignal is a platform, not a political actor. We are committed to serving all sides of the political spectrum equally.
Who We Serve
PolicySignal is built for elected officials, community organizers, and engaged constituents who want more from civic participation than a bumper sticker. Whether you represent a school board, a city council district, or a state legislature, our tools are designed to help you listen at scale — and act with legitimacy.
